Waste Point
AFKE Initiatives
On the 4th of March 2023, AFKE employees took significant strides in improving the waste management system in Kant city, ensuring a cleaner and more efficient environment. Here are the key initiatives undertaken:
Thorough Area Cleaning:
AFKE employees diligently cleaned the area, demonstrating our commitment to a cleaner community. A total of 1500 kg of diverse waste was responsibly collected and neatly packed into 80 bags.
Infrastructure Upgrades for Convenience:
Infrastructure Upgrades for Convenience: Concrete Pavement Installation: We have installed concrete pavement surrounding the collection point to facilitate the smooth movement of wheeled bins, streamlining the waste collection process for everyone. Enhanced Security and Odor Control: Dual-Layer Metal Roof and Fencing: To address concerns such as stray dogs, minimize odors, and contain waste effectively, we've implemented a dual-layer metal roof and fencing around the collection area.
Improved Access Points:
Two Entrances: We've introduced two entrances for enhanced accessibility – a smaller one equipped with a door latch for residents and a larger sliding gate tailored for municipal waste collection.
Efficient Waste Bin Replacement:
Wheeled Bin Implementation: In a move to lighten the load for municipal service employees during emptying, eight conventional waste bins have been replaced with more efficient wheeled models.
Community Education Initiatives:
Educational Video Production: AFKE is committed to community engagement. We are creating an informative video to guide residents on optimal waste-point usage, fostering a sense of responsibility among all stakeholders. Informational Panels: In addition, we'll be installing informational panels, ensuring that residents are well-informed about the waste management procedures at AFKE. © The AFKE team and TSI students on clean-up day. 29.10.2024
